Alpe d'Huez Ski Resort

  • ski to your doorstep in this playground for skiers of all abilities. Situated at the heart of the linked area of Les Grandes Rousses, with 86 lifts and 220km of piste, Alpe d'Huez is one of France's largest alpine resorts. The scenery is amazing and the choice of runs for everyone is endless. This high-altitude ski area has great access to all areas, and even boasts the longest black run in the Alpes and the longest vertical descent at 2330 meters.

Cervinia Ski Resort

  • cervinia is one of Italy's most popular resorts, with a vibrant night life, good food, magnificent Matterhorn scenery and great skiing. It also benefits from having its own glacier and lots of sunshine.

  • the extensive ski area, of 180 km prepared piste, is served by an excellent lift system which connects Cervinia to both Valtournache and Zermatt (Switzerland).

  • the slopes range from cruising motorways to long red descents, and offer a great ski experience for all abilities.

  • apres ski ranges from lovely fondue at Chez Lombard, to cocktails at the village's own ice rink bar. The choice is upbeat, lively, if slightly pricy.

Saas Fee Ski Resort

  • saas fee is a beautiful alpine village with a magnificent backdrop of towering peaks and dazzling glaciers. It has a car free centre, and electric ski buses make it easy and comfortable to get around.

  • it is probably the most snow sure resort in Europe and full of Swiss charm - nicknames 'The pearl of the Alps'. - the Metro Alpin, Europe's highest cable railway, continues up to Mittelallalin and the highest revolving restaurant in the world, at 11,500ft.

  • picturesque St. Anton is considered to be one of the best high alpine resorts in the world. This famous village is set in the heart of the vast Arlberg Ski Circus, which opens up 260 km of great skiing.

Saalbach - Off Piste

  • set in scenic Salzburgerland, the twin villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm are superbly positioned for the extensive 'Ski Circus', where a system of 63 interconnecting lifts put 200 km of prepared pistes at your ski tips. This is heaven for skiers of all standards, with the added bonus of the Austrian charm and efficiency.

  • saalbach is the more lively village of the two with a wide variety of eateries, bars and clubs, while Hinterglemm offers a more sophisticated and sedate view of village life. Both are very charming, and as they are so close to each other, allow you to try out the atmosphere of either.

  • skiing can be done in a new area for each day of the week, as the resorts offer enough to keep any skier occupied. Easier runs are centrally positioned along the villages, while the intermediate runs are of varied difficulty to offer every level skier with a challenge or an open blue if wanted. Dedicated skiers will appreciate the blacks on the Zwolferkogel and the 4km run under the Shattenberg cable car.

Tignes Ski Resort

  • set in the dramatic scene of the Savoie Alps, Tignes offers some of the best and most challenging skiing in Europe. The resort is actually made up of 5 main centres; Les Almes, Lavachet, Bel Rouge, Le Rosset and Val Claret - all of which are linked by a free bus.

  • tignes opens up an almost unmatched choice of possibilities for the advanced skier, from powder bowls and mogul fields to challenging couloirs. Intermediates will find an almost endless variety of beautiful wide pistes, and testing runs for the better skiers. There are also plenty of easy runs for novice skiers, who can graduate up to the La Motte glacier once the basic techniques have been mastered.

Val Thorens

  • val thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe and arguably one of the best! It lies on the top of the 3 Valleys ski area, with doorstep skiing wherever you stay. Its altitude means this resort enjoys long hours of sunshine and an excellent snow record.

  • meribel, Couchevel and Les Menuires are within easy access on the well linked piste and lift system.

  • skiing is fantastic and beginners have a vast area of green runs to enjoy right next to the village. For intermediates it is described as a true paradise, with runs for any level of excitement. For the more advance d there are many well marked itineraries and also excellent high altitude powder to tickle your fancy.

  • with a good snow record, Verbier offers great skiing for everyone. Miles of black mogul runs, sheer couloirs and steep skiing keep the advanced occupied. The intermediate skiers are equally well catered for, with some of the most varied scenic skiing in the Alps, on a wide range of blue and red runs. Beginners start out on the sunny nursery slopes above the village, and go on to tackle the easy blue runs.
