Considered by many to be the world's premier ski resort, Val d'Isere is a true pearl. The village oozes charm and rustic beauty, while the skiing fascinates and captures skiers from the world over...

It is not by chance that this was once called "the most beautiful winter playground" by its creator. The 'Espace Killy' means more than just the Val d'Isere and Tignes domains put together - it is a big, beautiful and unique gift from nature - and we have chosen to make it our home.

Connoisseurs agree: from the Pissaillas glacier to the Vallon de la Sache, Val d'Isere displays an uncommon characteristic - diversity. Diverse snow, slopes, mountain sides, untamed nature. And if one was to recount the feeling of the place in a piece of music, it would be a flamboyant opera rather than a light-hearted song.

skiing

This is a true intermediates paradise. From the gentle cruising blue and red runs of Bellevarde and La Daille to the Le Fornet glacier and the massive ski domain of Tignes and La Grand Motte, there is an endless choice at every level. The area divides naturally into six sectors, four of which are on the Val d'Isere side. A very efficient lift system links 300kms of piste, so that you need never ski the same run twice.
For the more advanced, however, the choice is also vast. Val d'Isere must be included in every list of the best skiing in Europe for its giant moguls, steep black runs, couloirs and not least its sensational off-piste.

village

Once the sun disappears behind the Bellevarde mountain, the village springs into life... Shops, bars and restaurants line the streets, and draw you in to their warmly lit and welcoming atmospheres. There is something to cater for any taste in shopping, food, entertainment and night life.
The lovely architecture also plays its central role in providing the village with an all-round beauty. Val d'Isere has stayed true to its origins, and still clads its building facades in chiselled stone, wood and flagstone.
